  A 45-year-old artist, Balogun Omokhafe, also known as Hakuzion, on Monday completed a four-day trek from his hometown in Ekpesa, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, to Benin City, Edo State, to protest the deplorable state of the Igarra–Ibillo section of the Auchi–Ibillo Road and rising cases of kidnapping in the area. Omokhafe said the deteriorating condition of the road has turned the route into a hotspot for criminal activity, particularly abductions. He estimated that over 100 people have been kidnapped along the axis, with several lives lost. GOV OKPEBHOLO FLAGS-OFF EMERGENCY PALLIATIVE WORK ON FG ROADS IN AKOKO EDO, VOWS TO END KIDNAPPING IN EDO STATE. Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has flagged off failed portions of Federal Roads in Edo North Senatorial District. The failed portions of roads flagged off by the governor are about 9.61 km, which includes Auchi-Igarra-Aiyetoro-Unemu-Nekhua-Aiyegunle-Ikpeshi-Ibillo-Ekor-Ikiran-Oke, all in Edo North Senatorial District. Governor Okpebholo, who flagged off the roads on Thursday, said the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration is concerned about Edo's development and has continued to ensure the people enjoy the dividends of democracy in Edo State. He noted that his administration is assuring Edo people that kidnapping business will be a thing of the past in the State.
