IGARRA COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTER COMES ALIVE

The Community Learning Centre was commissioned on the 27th of March 2017 by Prof. Abba Abubakar, The then executive Secretary, National Commission for Mass Literacy and Adult Education. The center was facilitated by an illustrious son of the soil Dr. John Edeh, who influenced and facilitated the establishment of this institution, meant for the whole of South South Nigeria to our dear local government . The center is supposed to be a citadel for learning and acquiring skills for free. This was initially been fulfilled at the beginning until it encountered some setbacks due to lack of funding. most of the tutors were discouraged and they stopped coming. without tutor's students soon gave up and stopped coming too. Fellow traditional rulers, including HRH Sunday S. Mayaki JP the Oshemi Onayniyimi of Igarra , and HRH Aliu Ogbodo Suleiman JP the Otu Gbajagbaja of Igarra , joined the celebrations, underscoring the unity and prestige of the Eziobe traditional council of Igarra. The day opened with rain pouring in abundance , regarded as a divine testament to the monarch’s mantle , a symbolic blessing tied to the Anonyete Royal Clan , The rain makers in the community which the reigning king becomes the custodian and bringer of rain especially in times of drought. GOV OKPEBHOLO FLAGS-OFF EMERGENCY PALLIATIVE WORK ON FG ROADS IN AKOKO EDO, VOWS TO END KIDNAPPING IN EDO STATE. Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has flagged off failed portions of Federal Roads in Edo North Senatorial District. The failed portions of roads flagged off by the governor are about 9.61 km, which includes Auchi-Igarra-Aiyetoro-Unemu-Nekhua-Aiyegunle-Ikpeshi-Ibillo-Ekor-Ikiran-Oke, all in Edo North Senatorial District. Governor Okpebholo, who flagged off the roads on Thursday, said the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration is concerned about Edo's development and has continued to ensure the people enjoy the dividends of democracy in Edo State. ARTIST TREKS FROM AKOKO-EDO TO BENIN OVER BAD ROAD, KIDNAPPINGS

  A 45-year-old artist, Balogun Omokhafe, also known as Hakuzion, on Monday completed a four-day trek from his hometown in Ekpesa, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, to Benin City, Edo State, to protest the deplorable state of the Igarra–Ibillo section of the Auchi–Ibillo Road and rising cases of kidnapping in the area. Omokhafe said the deteriorating condition of the road has turned the route into a hotspot for criminal activity, particularly abductions. He estimated that over 100 people have been kidnapped along the axis, with several lives lost. He cited the unresolved case of Okasime Olowojoba, the Labour Party Chairman of Ward 1, Akoko-Edo, who has been missing for over four months following his abduction Speaking to journalists upon arrival in Benin, Omokhafe explained: “I began my journey from Ibillo, but due to heavy rain, I had to take a vehicle to Auchi, from where I started trekking to Benin to appeal directly to the governor.” He described the road as a death trap: “You c...
